Cookies used on the public site
Public travel guides, place pages, event pages, maps, search, and filters work without a Best in Estonia account. We do not currently use non-essential cookies for advertising, behavioral analytics, remarketing, or personalization.
Essential private-editor cookie
The private editorial area uses one strictly necessary cookie named bie_admin_session. It authenticates authorized editors, is not used to track public visitors, and expires after eight hours. Because it is essential to a requested sign-in session, it cannot be disabled while using the editor.
Maps and external websites
Pages with maps request software from unpkg and map tiles from OpenStreetMap. Links may also take you to venues, booking services, ticket sellers, social networks, and other external websites. Those providers may use cookies under their own policies; Best in Estonia does not control them.
The small privacy note
The notice explains our current setup; “Got it” dismisses it and does not give consent to advertising or analytics. After you dismiss it, bie_privacy_notice_v1 in your browser’s session storage remembers the dismissal for that tab’s browsing session. Use “Privacy note” in the footer to show it again. No visitor identifier is stored by this feature.
If non-essential analytics, advertising or personalization tools are introduced, appropriate consent controls must be available before those tools are enabled. Our current notice does not grant consent for future tools.
Hosting security
Cloudflare delivers and protects the site. Depending on the security checks applied to a request, it may use essential security cookies such as cf_clearance or __cf_bm. These are not advertising cookies; their presence and duration depend on the security feature. See Cloudflare’s cookie documentation. Ordinary public pages do not deliberately create an editor session.
Your browser controls
You can inspect, block, or remove cookies through your browser settings. Blocking the essential editor cookie will prevent authorized editors from staying signed in but will not affect ordinary public browsing.
