The approach through the trees is part of the visit. Picnic facilities, a volleyball area and an outhouse support a longer outdoor stop when weather and current site conditions suit.

Follow the named recreation-area approach from parking. The official description warns that the water deepens quickly and northerly winds can create strong waves. A shore walk is a useful alternative to entering the water; check current RMK notices before travelling.
