A little orientation

Make time for Pärnu

Pärnu is easiest to enjoy when you leave some space in the day. Walk from the Old Town through the villa streets to the beach, pause in a park, and keep a museum or spa in reserve for a change in the weather. The centre and main resort area work well together on foot; crossing the river or heading towards the outer coastal districts opens up a quieter second day.

How long?

One full day for the centre and beach; two days for museums, a spa and another neighborhood.

When to come

Summer for beach life and outdoor cafés; cooler months for a quieter mix of walks, museums and booked spa time.

Getting around

Choose a base in the centre or beach district for a first visit on foot. For Ülejõe, Vana-Pärnu or the outer coastal areas, check the actual route from your accommodation and consider a local bus or bicycle. Pärnu bus station is the useful arrival point for intercity coach planning.

Your first day

A route to start with

Start with Pärnu Museum or the Red Tower, walk through the centre to Tallinn Gate and Vallikäär, then follow Supeluse towards Beach Park and the sand. Add the coastal meadow trail if you want a longer finish.

Check museum opening days before fixing an itinerary, especially outside summer. A spa booking, hotel stay and access to pools or treatments are not necessarily the same purchase.

Where to stay and wander

Choosing where to stay in Pärnu is mostly a choice between convenience, beach time and a quieter residential setting. The Old Town and resort streets make a straightforward first base; the areas across the river and along the outer coast reward a longer stay. This guide uses practical visitor areas, not a claim that every heading is an official administrative district.
