This itinerary assumes one full day in Pärnu, with an optional second day. It is a suggested sequence, not a timed tour: check museum opening days and your arrival before deciding where to begin. Keep one substantial indoor visit per half-day, and allow the beach to take longer when the weather deserves it. A late arrival is a reason to shorten the route, not to rush the whole city.

Day one, morning: understand the town

Start around Aida Street with Pärnu Museum if you want the broad history. Alternatively, choose the Red Tower for a more focused stop and leave the larger museum for another day. Walk the central streets around Rüütli and pause at St Elizabeth’s Church; an exterior view can fit the route even when an interior visit does not. Have lunch in the centre before committing to the beachward half of the day.

Day one, afternoon: gate, moat and sea

Continue to Tallinn Gate and Vallikäär, then make your way towards Supeluse. The change from central streets to villas and parkland is part of the pleasure. Walk through Beach Park and onto the beach. Stop wherever you would rather linger. If you still want a longer walk, add the coastal meadow trail; otherwise save it for the next morning.

Day one, evening: choose your dinner district

Eat near the resort streets if you are already there, or return to the centre if that is where you are staying. The food guide gives specific options along this route. Reserve dinner when it is important to the evening, especially in summer. If your coach leaves the same day, shorten the beach section and leave a comfortable margin for collecting bags and reaching the bus station. This is a city break, not a race to the last possible connection.

Day two: choose one different side of Pärnu

For literary and cultural history, cross the river to Koidula Museum in Ülejõe and make the neighborhood part of the outing. For art, stay on the central side and visit the Museum of New Art, checking the exhibition first. For a resort weekend, book a spa session and leave the rest of the day deliberately light. These are alternatives: combining all three would undermine the slower second day this itinerary is meant to provide.

Adapt it to rain, children or a shorter stay

On a wet day, lead with your chosen museum, lunch and a brief central walk; use a dry interval for the gate and moat. With children, make the park or beach the main afternoon activity and omit the extra museum. For a half-day, choose either the centre-to-beach walk or a museum plus central streets. Use the neighborhood guide to choose a base that makes your preferred version easy. Suggested pacing is editorial advice; current admission times and transport schedules come from the individual operators.
